LEAP’s first international engagement was full of unforgettable moments. Our team traveled to Istanbul in December 2015 to work with Bosphorus University, known as “the Harvard of Turkey.” It was a truly memorable experience to work with the wonderful people at this storied institution.
We took advantage of our time in Istanbul to introduce several new audiences to our personal branding process. Our “teaser” workshop at Soho House Istanbul was booked so much beyond capacity that we were moved to the screening room where we conducted the session for over 50 attendees. And we were very well received! One participant wrote to tell us
“Last night made me look back at some of the recent decisions I've made both in my professional and personal lives, and I feel like I've come to some sort of an epiphany after a long night of contemplating following the workshop.”
Our next challenge was presenting our teaser in Turkish, with the help of our new project partners in Istanbul. We had another overbooked audience – members of the local “CEO Club” as well as the “Alumni Turk” organization – and had to scramble last-minute to rent extra chairs for the venue. There’s no doubt that Istanbul is ready to embrace personal branding!
All in all, we didn’t have much time for seeing the sights, though we did manage to visit a traditional Turkish hammam, or bath house. A fantastic ritual we very much recommend!
